Winter landscape and St. Bartholmä pilgrimage church

Discover St. Bartholomä in winter

Escape everyday life and visit St. Bartholomä in winter. Far away from the summer hustle and bustle, you will travel to a picturesque winter landscape.

When snow in the mountain forests makes it difficult to find food, the red deer migrate to the less snowy valley forests of the Alpine foothills. As roads and settlements now hinder their migration, they are fed at Königssee – in St. Bartholomä and in Reitl on the opposite side. In spring, the deer return to the higher mountain forests.
