Information for travelling with dogs
- Dogs accompanying mountaineersmust also wear a muzzle on the return journey from Salet, St. Bartholomä or Kessel. To avoid being refused transport, please carry a muzzle in your rucksack.
- In the interests of our other passengers, please do not allow your dog to swim in the lake immediately before the journey. The boat crew may refuse to transport wet dogs.
Please note the departure time of the last boat!
- Please note the last return trip from the Salet, St. Bartholomä and Kessel (on-demand stop) stops back to Seelände Königssee! Please refer to the timetable for the last departure of the boat.
- There are no overnight accommodation options in Salet, St. Bartholomä and Kessel, and camping is prohibited in accordance with national park regulations! If you miss the last scheduled boat, you will be picked up by the Berchtesgaden water rescue service. This will incur costs of up to €520.

Where can I obtain a return ticket from Salet, St. Bartholomä or Kessel?
- You can purchase your ticket for the return journey from Salet or St. Bartholomä to Königssee from the jetty attendant.
- If you are boarding at Kessel, please purchase your ticket directly from the boat crew (please have small change ready).
- Unfortunately, there is no online ticket available for the single journey back to Seelände.
On-demand stop Kessel
The Kessel stop is only served when required. Please inform the boat crew when boarding the boat that you wish to disembark at Kessel. On the return journey from Kessel to Seelände, you can use the orange sliding board on the landing stage to signal to the boat crew that you would like to travel with them.
Mountain lodge
Kärlingerhaus (DAV Berchtesgaden), 1,638 m

- Winter room: the winter room is closed from mid-October. The key can only be collected from the DAV Berchtesgaden office after prior registration and payment of a deposit, an overnight stay fee and a wood fee. The shelter is always open (blankets are available, but there is no stove and no heating material).

- Mountain lodge approach: From St. Bartholomä through the Saugasse in approx. 5 hours to the Kärlingerhaus. Easiest approach. Approximately 1000 metres of altitude.
Wasseralm (DAV Berchtesgaden), 1423 m

- End of May to beginning of October

- Access to the mountain lodge: From Salet, pass Obersee and either take the Landtal or Röthsteig trail (both secured mountain trails in places) to Wasseralm. Around 950 metres of altitude.
Gotzenalm (private mountain lodge), 1685 m

- Overnight stay: Possible for just under 100 people from the end of May to mid-October
- Access to the mountain lodge: From Kessel via the Reitsteig to the Gotzenalm. Easy. Around 1150 metres of altitude. From Salet via the Kaunersteig. Sure-footedness required. Around 1200 metres of altitude.
