Despite the operation of all boats, there may be waiting times for both outward and return journeys during holiday periods – especially from July to mid-September – as well as on public holidays or long weekends when the weather is fine and passenger numbers are high.
Experience has shown that there are particularly large numbers of passengers on fine days after a period of rain. On such days, it is advisable to start the journey to St. Bartholomä before 10:00 a.m. if possible and to start the return journey by 2:30 p.m. at the latest.
You can also conveniently purchase tickets online in advance. With an online ticket, you can go directly to the boarding pier. Please note that online tickets are only available for trips from Seelände – not for single trips from the piers back to Seelände.
On a few days, our tickets are already sold out in the early afternoon. Then there are no more tickets available – neither at the ticket office nor online.
Nevertheless, you will sometimes see empty boats departing from Seelände. These boats pick up guests from St. Bartholomä. If they were to depart fully loaded from here, the queues in St. Bartholomä would become much longer.
